MOU Signed between IIPA & Chengdu Economic & Technological Development Zone

In 23 November, 2018, International Industrial Park Alliance (IIPA) and Chengdu Economic & Technological Development Zone signed memorandum of understanding for business cooperation in the Branch Office of Chengdu People's Government in Shenzhen. The memorandum represented important milestones including areas of cooperation of introduction of financial resources, foreign investment, international talent and promotion to international market.
 
 
Chairman of IIPA Kevin Or, Vice-chairman Gary Ng, Secretary-general Jason Fung from IIPA communicated with Director of Chengdu Economic & Technological Development Zone in Shenzhen (Guangzhou, Hong Kong) Investment Promotion Centre Xie Xing-Yue and Director of Chengdu Economic & Technological Development Zone (Longquanyi District) Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Office Chen Zi-Jie to recognize mutual needs and resources.
 
The two parties agreed on that the IIPA, leveraging the competitive advantage of Hong Kong as the international finance centre and aggregation of international talents, can introduce more capital and human resources to Chengdu Economic & Technological Development Zone. Meanwhile, Chengdu Economic & Technological Development Zone can utilize the global network of the alliance to attract more Fortune Global 500 and global blue-chip enterprises to enhance project cooperation.
 
 
The contract signing ceremony is in witness of Zhou-Fan, Director of Chengdu Huaizhou New Town Investment Promotion Centre in Shenzhen. In the meeting, they also evaluated the implementation of a similar partnership model with Chengdu Huaizhou New Town.
 
 
The specific details of cooperation includes:
 
1. The representatives of the Alliance will promote the Chengdu Economic & Technological Development Zone to the Hong Kong Consulate of different countries. They will foster cooperation of Chengdu Economic & Technological Development Zone with full-range of well-known businesses such as automobile, alternative fuel vehicle, smart vehicle, smart manufacturing, education, healthcare, travel, creative industry and modern agriculture.
 
2. Drive enterprises in Chengdu Economic & Technological Development Zone to directly utilize the resources and channel of IIPA to commence global talent recruitment. The supporting human resources organizations are Mclaren Consultancy Limited and Robinson Consultancy Limited. They possess mature international talent network and experience in hiring high-calibre talent for Fortune 500 companies.
 
3. Utilize resources and pipelines of IIPA to enhance collaboration in areas like investment fund and corporate finance.
 
 
International Innovation Parks Alliance is dedicated to establish a world-class platform for resource integration to foster business interaction.
 
 
Chengdu Economic & Technological Development Zone
 
 
Chengdu Economic & Technological Development Zone is located in the eastern Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan province in China, with a total planned area of 365 square kilometres.  It was approved by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Ministry of Science and Technology, and Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China as the National Demonstration Eco-Industrial Parks in 2014.  The Sino-France Ecology Park and the Sino-German Automobile and Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park are built in the zone, being the advanced manufacturing base dominated by automobile and essential auto spare parts. It served as the ground for the 100 billion industrial parks and function belt of Longquan High-end Manufacturing Industries in Tianfu New District.  Being the second-largest automobile manufacturing base in the west, it gathers a total of 12 automobile makers including FAW-Volkswagen, FAW Toyota Motor, Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Company, Volvo Cars and 350 automobile assembly and auto spare part business.  The Chengdu Economic & Technological Development Zone had an automobile production exceeded 1.28 million (85.2% of total production in Sichuan province) in 2017, pushing the gross regional product to over 120 billion yuan. 
 
 
 
Upcoming Projects
 
 Chengdu Economic & Technological Development Zone would continue to develop in a scientific and advanced way, commit to the “Five Development Concept” and adhere to the “Made in China 2025” strategic plan and provincial action plan. The zone is looking to establish further partnership with global enterprises in the following areas,
 
  • Manufacturing of automobile and components
  • Alternative fuel vehicle
  • Hydrogen vehicle
  • Smart vehicle
  • Development of Longquan District (Commercial and real estate project)
  • Development of Longquan Ecology Park (Agricultural and tourism project)
