Located in the Ordos Airport Logistics Park, Ordos International Airport is 45 kilometres north of Dongsheng District, 18 kilometres northwest of Kangbashi New District and 20 kilometres southwest of Genghis Khan’s tomb. Since the opening of Ordos Airport in July 2007, the radiation range of the route has been continuously expanded, the infrastructure has been improved, and the transportation support capability has been rapidly improved. In 2015, it was awarded as an international four-star airport. In 2017, there were 54 flight destinations from the airport and 52 routes in operation, which include 11 international routes. The passenger throughput was 2.106 million person-times, an increase of 23.4%; the cargo and mail throughput were 11,800 tons, an increase of 29.6%; Ordos Airport entered the ranks of national medium-sized airports, which is of great significance for strengthening the Opening Up, economic cooperation and tourism development of Ordos.
