The Alliance's Exchange in France - Business Association of "Chene"(near Lyon) and Geolink
Mr Philippe Malaval, president of the Business Association of the Commercial Activity Zone of the "Chêne" and President and General Manager of Vassel Graphique (on the left) and Ms Maude Piegay, Advisor of International Innovation Parks Alliance (on the right).
In August 2018, the Alliance took advantage of the visit of one of its Advisor (Maude Piegay) to organize meetings with potential partners in France.
Exchange with Business Association of the Commercial Activity zone of the “Chêne” (near the Lyon area)
On this occasion, we were able to meet Mr Philippe Malaval, president of the Business Association of the Commercial Activity Zone of the “Chêne » (near the Lyon area) and President and General Manager of VASSEL GRAPHIQUE (design and printing of documents). This interview allowed us to present the IIPA platform and to discuss the interest for companies wishing to develop their activities abroad.
We exchanged with Mr Malaval on the functioning of his association, ongoing projects, their concern and their major areas of reflection for the next months/ years. Mr Malaval told us that the French parks are managed by different public actors:
The economic unit of their region (Rhône Alpes Auvergne region for the case of the ZAC du Chêne). It is this economic unit which guarantees the good development of the economic basin and aims at helping companies in their implementation project.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the region which has set up a dynamic commission to promote business exports.
These actors could be interested in the platform project. Thanks to Mr Malaval, we contacted these interlocutors to explore further partnership opportunities.
Exchange with Geolink – An Platform which Lines up French Companies to Enter International Market and International Companies to Enter French Market
We also exchanged ideas with Ms. Fanny Soufflet, Business Implantation Manager at Geolink Expansion, with whom we were able to see some possibilities for collaboration. Indeed, Geolink accompanies the companies in their project of establishment in France and in Europe. The association offers advisory service to companies funded by local authorities (regional councils, employment agency ...) and embassies (Belgium, Switzerland ...).
Their main mission is to support the territories in their development of local business environment. In this context they propose to companies:
To detect interesting settlement projects;
To advise them according to their activity and their project (land/ real estate).
During our exchanges, we explained that our project wants to connect the actors of the development and the international mobility of companies:
Companies accompanying the projects of establishment abroad
Chamber of Commerce
Due to our professional activity and our location (Hong Kong), we benefit from an interesting network and knowledge about the local market:
Provincial Governor in China
Innovation Park Holder / Technology Park
Facilitator for administrative follow-up on visa issues, taxes ...
Professional service provider from Hong Kong and China
We both agreed there are synergies to explore between our two entities. Notably the use of the platform to connect companies wishing to locate in France and who could use the services of Geolink but also French companies wishing to develop their business internationally and looking for a partner to accompany them.
Both acknowledged that becoming a member of the alliance would also allow Geolink to benefit from the platform to communicate with our international members and increase its notoriety with foreign companies and partners.
