The Alliance's Exchange in U.A.E. - Dubai Intercity City, TECOM Group
In late August, IIPA Advisor Maude Piegay has continued her international journey in Dubai right after her exchange in France. She has met with Clio Andriopoulos Senior Manager Strategy from TECOM Group Dubai (http://tecomgroup.ae/). TECOM, which runs Dubai Internet City, has already partnered with Chinese technology companies such as Huawei, UnionPay, China Telecom Middle East and Oceanblue Cloud.
During our exchanges, we have introduced the notion of the Innovation Park Alliance, as we foresee.
Clio explained that TECOM has a long history with Chinese companies and back to 2008 they participated to a seminar in order to promote Dubai’s strategic location, strong economy and tax-free business environment. In 2017 their goals was to offer a platform for Chinese Tech Companies to Increase their International Presence:
“China is a very important market and valued partner of the UAE. We see huge potential to build on this partnership through offering Chinese technology companies the ideal environment to set up business or expand their footprint in the region.”
Being a members of the Alliance and being connected with other innovation parks could be an added value allowing them to:
Meet with key opinion leader/ Provincial governor
Share their ways, best practices, soft and hard skills, expansion project and learn from the others
Organize parks visits in Dubai and in China
Find business partners, investors
Explore ways to implement their activities abroad
Facilitate administrative procedures for them and their business partners.
This is a fruitful international exchange trip and IIPA will continue to connect with innovation parks worldwide.
